    What the video shows

Practice managers can decide whether everyone in the practice must use two-step sign-in. You can also reset the app for someone who has lost their phone. This video shows you both.

The setting is in Preferences. Open Preferences in the menu on the left of the screen, and then choose the Practice Details tab, where the practice's own details are kept.

Further down the page is the Two-step sign-in panel. It has three choices, and one of them is always selected.

Off means staff sign in with just their password, unless they've set up an app themselves.

SMS sends a 6-digit code to their mobile phone by text message. Anyone with an authenticator app uses the app instead.

Authenticator app required means everyone must use an app. Anyone without one is asked to set it up the next time they sign in.

When you're happy with your choice, save it with the save button at the top, as usual.

If someone loses their phone, or gets a new one, you can reset their app. Open Users in the menu, then Find Users, and type their surname into the search box.

Their name appears in the list below. Right-click their name, and choose Reset authenticator app from the menu. A window asks you to check.

Choose Yes to reset it. Their recovery codes stop working too, so nobody can use them to sign in.

The next time they sign in, they'll be asked to set up their app again, on their new phone.
