    What the video shows

You can ask patients for their GDPR consent on any of your online forms, and their answer updates their GDPR consent for you. This video shows you how.

You'll find the Form Designer under Utilities. It opens on the list of your forms. Press New Form, and choose a standard form, or open one of the forms you already have. Then give it a name, so your patients know what it's for. We'll call ours New patient registration.

Down the left, under Form Elements, you'll find GDPR consent, with a shield beside it. Drag it across, and drop it onto your form.

It's a single tick box, with the wording your patients will read beside it. Click it, and you can change the wording to suit your practice.

Ticking or unticking it updates the patient's GDPR consent. Leave Required off, so patients can say no, and still send you the form.

When you're happy, save your form, and publish it, as usual. Chiral Cloud then gives you the form's link, ready to share with your patients.

Close the message, and here's your form, as your patient sees it on their phone, tablet or computer. There's nothing for them to install, and nothing to log in to.

The box starts unticked. Under UK GDPR, a box that's already ticked doesn't count as consent, so your patient ticks it themselves.

Your patient ticks the box to give consent. They can tap the words too, which is easier on a phone.

If they leave it unticked, that's an answer too: it means they haven't consented. Then they send the form.

Forms that come in are under Patients, Mail Shots, Patient Forms. Open a Patient Forms mail shot to see your published forms, then right-click your form, and choose Show Patient Responses. A new tab opens with every copy that's been sent in.

This one came from your general link, so Chiral Cloud doesn't know who sent it yet. Its answer reads, Consented.

Right-click it, and choose Link to patient. Start typing the patient's surname, then pick the right person from the list. Here, it's Jasper Jones. The Link button stays grey until you've chosen someone.

The box shows what the form said. Press Link, and the patient's GDPR consent is updated to match, so you don't have to change it yourself.
