Copying forms from another practice

Contents

If your group has more than one practice, copy forms from one practice to another instead of building them twice. Copies arrive as drafts with the same name, and medical questions are matched to your own medical conditions by name.

    Good to know

    • The Copy from another practice button only appears for people who can switch between the group's practices.
    • Only draft and published forms are offered; archived forms are not.
    • Copies are separate from the original: changing one doesn't change the other. Patients' answers and mail shots are not copied.
    • Medical questions are matched to your practice's medical conditions by name (capitals and spaces don't matter). If a condition isn't found, a reminder names the question: choose a condition for it, remove it, or add the condition in Housekeeping first.
    • Patients can't use a copy until you publish it.

    What the video shows

If your group has more than one practice, you don't need to build the same form twice. This video shows how to copy forms from one practice to another. It's for whoever looks after your practice's forms.

Go to Utilities in the menu on the left, then Form Designer. It opens on the Forms tab, your list of forms. This practice has none yet.

Next to New Form, there's a button called Copy from another practice. You'll only see it if you can switch between your practices, up here at the top.

Press it, then choose the practice you want to copy from.

You'll see that practice's draft and published forms, with their type and when they were last changed.

Each form you copy arrives here as a draft, with the same name. Your patients' answers aren't copied.

Tick the forms you want. Here, we'll copy both of them. The button shows how many you've chosen.

Press Copy. A message tells you your forms have been copied.

Medical questions are matched to your own medical conditions, by name. If one isn't found here, a reminder tells you which question to check.

Close the reminder. Here are your copies, as drafts. Your patients can't use them until you publish them here.

Open the medical history form with Edit. Questions this practice also has are already linked, like Asthmatic here.

The latex question says No medical condition chosen. Click it, and on the right, look for it in your list. This practice doesn't have it.

So here, we'll remove the question with its red cross. To keep it instead, add the condition to this practice first, in Housekeeping.

Press Save. When you're happy with it, publish it, so your patients can use it.
